On an average we have sixty thousand thoughts a day and most of the thoughts are over about the past and worries about the future. Our minds can often be our worst enemy and negative thoughts can lead to stress and anxiety.

Practicing mindfulness can help you shift your thoughts away by focusing on the present moment and accepting it. Mindfulness is said to be an important element of stress reduction and overall happiness.

This article will provide you some amazing tips to practice mindfulness and let you know why mindfulness is important in our day to day life.

WHAT IS MINDFULNESS?

Before learning the tips to practice mindfulness let us know what exactly mindfulness is.

Mindfulness is a practice to live in the present. Noticing what’s happening in and around us in the present moment and acknowledging it without any judgement. It teaches us how to be okay with being present with whatever happening inside of us.

TIPS TO PRACTICE MINDFULNESS

Practicing mindfulness will help you slow down the brain instead of spending your time thinking what’s going on or what’s coming next.

Here are few tips to practice mindfulness

1. BE IN NATURE

Try getting out as much as possible, taking a walk and enjoying the breeze and the sunshine, there’s nothing like Mother Nature to help guide you into the present. Paying attention to every tiny detail around you which is taken granted such as smell of a flower, pattern of the leaves and many more.

2. EAT MINDFULLY

Focus on eating nourishing meal without TV or computer in front of you. Take your time notice and appreciate every flavor and enjoy it. It will satisfy your soul.

3. CREATIVITY

Try engaging in a creative practice, be it cooking, baking, painting anything you like; it is an easiest way to shut off from your thoughts and truly get into the present and really lose yourself in what you are doing.

4. Meditate

Take out just five minutes from your busy schedule to meditate. Sit quietly and follow your breath. This will help relax your mind and keep you calm for the rest of the day.
